Executive Summary

One of the senior projects for the year 2019-2020 at Cal Poly Pomona is the I-215 Campus Pkwy Feasibility Project which will propose the best alternative to improve local circulation, provide more access, and keep up with growing commuter demands in the area surrounding the I-215 between Palm Ave and University Pkwy.

The senior project team produced 4 viable alternatives consisting of a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI), Hook Ramp Hybrid, Overcrossing, and Shuttle Service. To come to a decision for the preferred alternative, the team performed a benefit/cost analysis and took part in a decision matrix. The Overcrossing was chosen as the preferred alternative.

Construction is proposed to take place in three phases: Phase 1: Connection to Kendall Dr & Start Bridge Work, Phase 2: Connection to Cajon Blvd, and Phase 3: Connection to Hallmark Pkwy & Finish Bridge Work.
